Veterinary Diagnostic Testing & Pharmacy

Just as with humans, your pet can get sick with all kind of diseases and conditions. The key to getting him or her healthy again quickly is having the diagnostic testing capabilities to determine what is actually wrong, and then providing the correct treatment or medications. At Knoxville Veterinary Clinic, we have the ability to perform most diagnostic tests right here in our office. We also have a pharmacy department that can fill any necessary prescriptions.

Diagnostic Tests

Instead of having to go to a separate facility, we can perform tests right here, and you will have the results in just a few minutes. When you have to take your pet elsewhere, it can take days, or even a week, before the results are sent back to the veterinarian. Your pet could be well on the way to recovery in that amount of time.

Our facility has the ability to perform:

  • Blood chemistry analysis
  • Heartworm and blood parasite tests
  • Feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus tests
  • Pancreatitis testing
  • Tests for thyroid problems
  • Parvovirus and giardia testing
  • Diagnostic laser surgery
  • X-ray

We will get to the bottom of what is wrong with your pet. Fecal parasites, allergies, and bacterial cultures can be sent to the lab for further testing, if needed, for an accurate diagnosis.

In-House Pharmacy

Having the medications you need for your pet stocked in our office makes things easier for you; you do not have to drive elsewhere to get any prescriptions filled or wait for prescriptions to come by mail. We stock a full range of veterinary medications, parasite preventives, and prescription diets in our office.

Many pet owners are tempted to try over-the-counter human or pet medications or herbal remedies that promise to fix health problems your pet may experience. At best, these are not as effective as a prescription, and in many cases actually make your pet very sick.

When you bring a sick pet to us, we do everything possible to figure out what is wrong, and then take care of it right here. It is seldom your pet will have to go elsewhere for anything. We find out what is wrong and begin treatment immediately, almost always on your first visit. It won’t be long before your pet is feeling better and acting like him or herself again.
